Ch. 3 – Gossip

Gossip

POV – Frodo

In which Frodo and Bilbo hear a great deal on many subjects as they set out on their journey, none of it particularly reassuring, and Frodo wonders if there will ever be an end to it.

Accounts

POV – Frodo

In which accounts become important – learning to count, weighing conflicting accounts, keeping accounts, and, most of all, settling accounts.

Ch. 22 – Plots

Plots

POV – Bilbo

In which the travelers set out for home, a weasel is found at the Badger, words are said, meanings are tangled, Frodo is shocked (as usual), and we finally meet the Widow Grubb.

~*~~*~~*~~*~~*~

Bilbo is revolted at Frodo’s treatment by their kin and in a mood for payback. It is the moment he decides to get engaged with Shire politics as he did not when he returned from his adventure.
