POV – Frodo
In which a new friend with an old past shows up on the doorstep.
We start with Frodo, who couldn’t get a word in edgewise in the last story.
The kid is not happy at everything that has happened and is beginning to have second thoughts about moving to Hobbiton. He’s got some good reasons to be less than thrilled with the change of scene.
We also get to dive into the experience of things changing in the Shire. Bilbo is eager to engage the wider world, which Frodo has been observing in a rather scholarly fashion up to the point of OMY, and now gets to see it big as life and twice as natural. It’s upsetting to him in a number of ways.
